Meals: None

Overnight: Cairo

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel, then meet your expert Egyptologist guide who will accompany you on a fascinating journey through Egypt’s ancient history.

Your first destination is the legendary Giza Plateau, home to the world-famous Great Pyramid of Khufu — the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Marvel at the three grand pyramids: Khufu’s colossal masterpiece, the slightly smaller Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, all set against the sweeping desert backdrop.

Stand before the imposing Great Sphinx, the mythical guardian with a lion’s body and the face of a pharaoh, believed to protect the sacred necropolis for millennia. Explore the nearby Valley Temple, once a site of sacred rituals including mummification, offering a unique glimpse into ancient funerary practices along with stunning views across the plateau.

Afterwards, enjoy a delicious lunch at a reputable local restaurant serving traditional Egyptian flavors.

In the afternoon, visit the much-anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), a state-of-the-art complex housing an unparalleled collection of artifacts. Wander through vast galleries showcasing colossal statues, intricately crafted jewelry, royal relics, and countless treasures spanning Egypt’s Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms. The museum’s innovative displays bring to life the beliefs, daily routines, and royal power of ancient Egyptians.

Return to your hotel for a peaceful evening of rest.

After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your short domestic flight to Aswan, a picturesque city nestled along the Nile’s banks.

Upon arrival, your local guide will welcome you and escort you on a sightseeing tour starting at the impressive Aswan High Dam. This modern engineering marvel controls the Nile’s annual floods and provides vital hydroelectric power to the nation, shaping Egypt’s modern landscape.

Next, enjoy a scenic motorboat ride to Philae Island, home to the exquisite Temple of Isis. Carefully relocated stone-by-stone to save it from flooding caused by the dam’s reservoir, this temple is dedicated to the goddess of magic and motherhood. Wander through its tranquil courtyards adorned with beautifully preserved reliefs and hieroglyphics that tell timeless stories.

Following the tour, board your deluxe Nile cruise ship and settle into your comfortable cabin. Relish a freshly prepared lunch onboard as the vessel begins its serene voyage southward toward Kom Ombo, framed by breathtaking Nile views.

Return to the ship and enjoy lunch as the cruise sails onward to Edfu. In the afternoon, visit the remarkably well-preserved Temple of Horus, one of Egypt’s finest examples of Ptolemaic architecture. Wander its grand courtyards and towering pylons adorned with vivid inscriptions illustrating mythological tales.

In the evening, join the lively Galabeya Party onboard, donning traditional Egyptian garments while enjoying folk music and spirited dancing, a perfect cultural celebration as the cruise continues toward Luxor.

Next, visit the striking Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, a terraced mortuary temple carved into the cliffs in honor of Egypt’s most famous female pharaoh. The architectural elegance and reliefs narrate her reign and divine birth.

Conclude your day at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Amenhotep III that have stood sentinel for over 3,000 years, welcoming travelers along the Nile.
